Episode 388: Buying a Stairway to Heron

This is the 388th edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You can CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD but note that the shows are large files. The show is also available to stream via Mixcloud and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). Following the last show when I previewed this year’s Cheltenham Jazz Festival, on this show I’ll mainly be focusing on lots of 2024 music. And I’ll also be looking ahead to a forthcoming 2024 release, currently available to pre-order, by reflecting on the band’s previous release, as our feature album is ’13 Moons’, the 2021 album by Hands of the Heron, so you’ll hear three tracks from that. Hands of the Heron are not only headlining the Sunday of EppyFest 11 in July, but later in the year they are aiming to release their long-awaited third album, so on this show we’ll be celebrating their past brilliance and encouraging you to part with some money. Other than that, we’ll cover the usual diverse selection of styles and genres across the playlist. Below you’ll find the track list, plus weblinks from where you can find more information about each artist.

This is the 374th edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You can CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD but note that the shows are large files. The show is also available to stream via Mixcloud and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). It’s that time of the year again, so for this show we have the return of the diabolical Count Eppy Gibbon, who will hopefully be your ghoulish host for this year’s Halloween special. We have a feature album on this show, ‘What Magic Is This?’, the 2023 and brand new album by The Witching Tale, the duo of Katharine Blake and Michael J York, and you’ll hear three tracks from that album throughout the playlist. Other than that, you can expect the usual eclectic mixture of music, only with a bit more of a spooky theme this time around. Below you’ll find the track list, plus weblinks from where you can find more information about each artist.

Thanks to all the musicians who contributed, to Count Eppy Gibbon, and of course to all of you listeners. Send us comments if you like what you hear (or even if you don’t… feedback is so important!). If you want to keep up to date with news about the show, EppyFest, or just chat with other listeners, don’t forget that there’s a Facebook group – just search for the Eppy Gibbon Podcast Show on Facebook and request to join, plus don’t forget that we’re now part of the Progzilla Radio Network. For the next show, in a couple of weeks’ time, we should be focusing on the new album by Hats Off Gentlemen It’s Adequate, with tracks from that album, ‘The Light Of Ancient Mistakes’, plus hopefully an interview with Malcolm Galloway and Mark Gatland, and of course the usual eclectic mixture of music. I hope to see you back for that.

Episode 373: Have Guns – Will Haggle

This is the 373rd edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You can CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD but note the shows are large files. The show is also available to stream via Mixcloud and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). This latest show focuses almost entirely on music from 2023, with the main exception being our feature album, ‘Flaunt The Imperfection’, the 1985 album by China Crisis, and we’ll have two tracks from that throughout the show. But apart from that dip into the 1980s, this show will predominantly focus on 2023 music (plus there’s one track from 2021, just to be different), as part of a typically eclectic playlist. So, strap in for a wonderful listening experience, which will include some new names, some old friends, and a preview of Sunday’s bill for next year’s EppyFest 11.
