Episode 293: Tim Smith Tribute Special

This is the 293rd edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You can CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD but note that the shows are large files. The show is also available to stream via Mixcloud and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). On this show I’ll be paying tribute to the music, the legacy and the genius of the late, great Tim Smith. Our feature album this time reflects that as it’s the fourth album proper by the band that Tim founded & fronted, ‘Sing To God’ by Cardiacs, and you’ll hear three tracks from that on the playlist. Other than that you can expect the usual eclectic musical mixture, including music from Tim’s various other musical projects: his solo work, Mr & Mrs Smith & Mr Drake, The Sea Nymphs, & Spratley’s Japs, plus cover versions of Tim’s work, music that influenced Tim, & bands who were in turn inspired by him. Episode 280: A Sense of History

This is the 280th edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You can CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD but note that the shows are large files. The show is also available to stream via Mixcloud and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). The world is looking a bit scarier at the moment what with the panic surrounding COVID-19, so I hope you are all looking after yourselves. But for the Eppy show it’s business as usual, so why not take some time out to sit back and listen to another typically eclectic mix, focusing on lots of 2020 music, and some pre-2020 music too, including one track stretching back to the 1980s. Thanks to all the musicians who contributed and to all listeners. Send us comments if you like what you hear (or even if you don’t… feedback is so important!). If you want to keep up to date with news about the show, EppyFest, or just chat with other listeners, don’t forget that there’s a Facebook group – just search for the Eppy Gibbon Podcast Show on Facebook and request to join, plus don’t forget that we’re now part of the Progzilla Radio Network. I’ll be back next time with a show that moves backwards in time, as we move from my half-term report on 2019 to focus on some of the best music from 2018 that I haven’t had chance to feature in my best EPs of 2018 and top 30 best albums of 2018 shows. I hope you’ll join me for that.
