Episode 294: Best of 2019 – the best of the rest part 4

This is the 294th edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You can CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD but note that the shows are large files. The show is also available to stream via Mixcloud and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). After my recent tribute to Tim Smith, on this show I return (for the last time) to my review of some of the best music from 2019 that didn’t get included in my top 31 albums countdown of last year. And we have a feature album on this show, inevitably from 2019, ‘Sub Marine Dreams’, the latest and brilliant album by the aquatic/prog/funk/sea shanty/pop band Seas Of Mirth, and you’ll hear three tracks from that on the playlist. Other than that you can expect the usual eclectic mixture of music, including tracks from albums, EPs and singles, all from 2019. Below you’ll find the track list, plus weblinks from where you can find more information about each artist.

And last time we had a feature album, but this time we have a feature artist/band, the musician and singer-songwriter Eddie Vedder and the band he helped to found, Pearl Jam, so you’ll hear three tracks featuring Vedder, two with Pearl Jam and one without. In addition, you can expect the usual eclectic musical mixture. Episode 262: Half-term report, 2019

This is the 262nd edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. The show is also available to stream via Mixcloud and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). Following the last show, where I offered a musical tribute to my Dad, this time we’re in more traditional Eppy Gibbon musical territory. This show entirely focuses on music from 2019, as I focus on some of the best music to be found on albums, EPs and singles released so far this year. I’m trying to cram in as much music as possible from many different releases, so therefore there will not be a feature album for this show. We’ll be covering the usual diverse selection of styles and genres, plus there’s another nod to the upcoming EppyFest 8. Episode 254: Silent Dust

This is the 254th edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You should be able to CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD but note the shows are large files. I hope you enjoyed the previous show in which I counted down my 10 favourite albums of 2018. But this time we’re much more focused on 2019 music, so you’ll hear lots of great music released so far this year, plus we’ll also have a featured artist, the mighty Esperanza Spalding, so we’ll have three tracks either from or featuring her, plus we pay tribute to the sadly recently departed Mark Hollis & Hal Blaine. Episode 252: Best of 2018, Top 30 pt 2

This is the 252nd edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You should be able to CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD but note the shows are large files. Unfortunately the iTunes subscription no longer appears to be working so either download the show via the link above, or stream the show via Mixcloud (if you become a follower you can find out whenever I add new shows there) and the show can also be found on the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). I hope you enjoyed the previous show in which I started my countdown of my 30 favourite albums of 2018. Back then we covered the albums I placed between 30 and 21 in the countdown, but here we move onto the albums placed between 20 and 11. You can expect a great mixture of music in this show, and a typically eclectic playlist, with two tracks each from the 10 brilliant albums in this part of the countdown. And we also have a feature artist, in the form of Sheffield-based composer, musician and polymath Jarrod Gosling, as we’ll be having three tracks featuring him on this show. Below you’ll find the track list, plus weblinks from where you can find more information about each artist.
