Episode 262: Half-term report, 2019

This is the 262nd edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You should be able to CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD but note the shows are large files & this may not be the best way to listen. The show is also available to stream via Mixcloud and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). Following the last show, where I offered a musical tribute to my Dad, this time we’re in more traditional Eppy Gibbon musical territory. This show entirely focuses on music from 2019, as I focus on some of the best music to be found on albums, EPs and singles released so far this year. I’m trying to cram in as much music as possible from many different releases, so therefore there will not be a feature album for this show. We’ll be covering the usual diverse selection of styles and genres, plus there’s another nod to the upcoming EppyFest 8. Below you’ll find the track list, plus weblinks from where you can find more information about each artist.

I’ll be back next time with a show that moves backwards in time, as we move from my half-term report on 2019 to focus on some of the best music from 2018 that I haven’t had chance to feature in my best EPs of 2018 and top 30 best albums of 2018 shows. I hope you’ll join me for that.

  1. Hi – Ant Cotton here. Really sorry I wasn’t able to get down for EppyFest at the weekend. Family poorliness required my attention I’m afraid. Hope there were lots of people there and all went well.

Loving Happy Crimes by Trampoline. My album of the year by a distance, so far!

    • Hi Ant, I did wonder what happened to you and really sorry that you missed it. I hope the family poorliness is nothing serious. We had a good turnout, though another 20-25 people would have been brilliant – it would have still kept it pleasant in terms of space, but would have helped me to break even. I’ll post your Sponsor tickets goodies to you when I can. And really glad to hear you’ve loving ‘Happy Crimes’ – I agree it’s a great album! Hope you can make it to EppyFest 9 next year.

      • Delighted there will be an Eppyfest 9. I’ll put it in the diary now and try to encourage a few friends to come along!

      • Yes, it’s going to happen. Just trying to confirm the dates and the headliners, and then the rest of the bill. I think we’ll continue at this year’s venue, which was very popular and worked well. I’ll confirm the dates ASAP (hoping to do it over a weekend again next year). And yes, please try to encourage as many people to come along as you can.
