Episode 29: Hot Snow

This is the twenty-ninth edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the blog entry to accompany it. CLICK HERE TO LISTEN. It’s kind of back to normal this time around after the last two special shows, so the aim is to cram in as much music as possible; in fact there will be 23 tracks. Not surprisingly, there’s material this time from all over the world, including artists from the UK, Germany, Italy, France, Sweden and the US, adding up to nearly two hours of fascinating and varied music. This month the feature album is ‘Such Fine Particles of The Universe’, the debut album from US band Bubblemath, plus there’s the usual diverse selection of styles and genres, including prog rock, experimental, post rock, gothic polka, pronk rock, sophisticated pop, folk rock, general strangeness, and lots & lots of electronica. Below you’ll find the track list, plus weblinks from where you can find more information about each artist.

Thanks as always to all the musicians who contributed to this show, and to you the listeners. Please do spread the word and send me comments if you like what you hear (or even if you don’t… feedback is so important!). Next month there will be four editions of the show made available – the first should be out early in August, which will be part 1 of an interview with band members from the excellent Thieves’ Kitchen, then we’ll have the second part later in the month, and even later still, two more interviews. It should be an entertaining month!

Great show, Eppy! This one really pushed all the right buttons for me: beautifully paced mix of digitalia plus the occasional dose of prog to cleanse the palate. That Vladimir Bozar ‘n’ Ze Sheraf Orkestar cut was especially eye-opening!

Thank you for including me in your cavalcade of electronica…

    Cheers,

    SJ

  3. Ian, Much gratitude for including a slice of my “Sonic Frankenstein” into your programming. I consider it to be a great honor to be included on the same show that features Bubblemath. Merci beaucoup!
