Episode 202: Best of 2016, Top 30 pt 3

March 21, 2017 at 11:41 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

This is the 202nd edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You may be able to CLICK HERE TO LISTEN but note the shows are large files & this may not be the best way to listen. If you prefer, you can subscribe to the show via iTunes by sticking feeds2.feedburner.com/TheEpilepticGibbonPodcastMusicShow into the ‘Subscribe to podcast’ area & then you’ll get the new shows as they become available. The show is also available to stream via Mixcloud and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). On this show I’ll conclude my countdown of my favourite 30 albums of 2016. This time around it’s the best of the best as I’ll be counting down from the album at 10 to the album at 1, my very favourite of 2016, so have your credit card and/or PayPal account to hand – hopefully you’ll be using them a lot during this show. There’s no feature album this time but there is the usual eclectic mixture of music. Below you’ll find the track list, plus weblinks from where you can find more information about each artist.

Don’t forget that we’re looking for listeners to pick their top five favourite bands/artists that we’ve played over the past 10 years (they can be established acts you already knew about or artists that you specifically discovered via the show) for a forthcoming 10th anniversary special. You can pick whoever you like, the only rule is that they must have been played on the show at least once in the past 10 years. You can post your choices as a comment to this post or via the Eppy Gibbon Podcast Show Facebook group. I’ll need your votes by early April, 2017.

Total running time: 2 hours & 27 minutes. Downloaded file is 134.1 MB.

I’ll be back next time with a special show when I’m only going to be playing bands and artists I have never played on the Eppy Gibbon show before. It should make for quite a playlist so I hope you’ll come back for that.

Episode 172: Ashes to Ashes

January 24, 2016 at 10:18 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , )

This is the 172nd edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. CLICK HERE TO LISTEN. The show is also available via Mixcloud here and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show is now appearing on Progzilla in alternate weeks). After another wonderful show from Rebsie & Daniel from Alchymical Muse it’s wonderful for this Gibbon to be back for a new show. Sadly, we’re reflecting on the loss of the remarkable David Bowie who died earlier this month and the feature album will be one of his, ‘Reality’ from 2003. As well as that, I’ll also be starting my review of the musical year of 2015 and there will be the usual eclectic musical mix. Below you’ll find the track list, plus weblinks from where you can find more information about each artist.

Total running time: 2 hours & 23 minutes. Downloaded file is 131.1 MB.
