This show largely focuses on an interview with singer, songwriter and musician Doris Brendel, perhaps best known as the lead singer of the band The Violet Hour but who has developed a solo career since the break-up of that band over 20 years ago. We’ll also be talking to Doris’ collaborator, guitarist and producer Lee Dunham. We’ll be discussing The Violet Hour, what Doris has been up to since then, and her latest album with Lee, the 2012 release ‘Not Utopia’.     What an interesting podcast. It’s refreshing to hear our ‘heroes’ talking naturally without feeling the need to project or maintain a media-hyped image. These are two ‘real’ artists with a wealth of talent and experience that they share with humour and intrigue in a language we can all relate to. Their choice of tracks to play would almost be mine and their tales of career paths, ‘daring-doos’, ‘daring-don’ts’, narrow boats and global travel have tremendous allure. Those photos should be on the ‘telly’, as they speak volumes. “Why are you still here?” that’s an easy one to answer…

    Very interesting interview. I’d never heard of Doris Brendel till around 3 hours ago (long story). Now I’m a fan!
